A mountaineer from the Munich area had a fatal accident on a tour in Mittenwald.
He was traveling alone – and was only found a day later.
Mittenwald - The climbing tour on the Viererspitz in Mittenwald, district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, ended on Saturday, August 13, fatally for a mountaineer from the greater Munich area.
It was not until Sunday, August 14, that his body was recovered from the rough terrain with the help of a police helicopter.
Munich mountaineer had a fatal accident in Mittenwald
As reported by the police, the 39-year-old from Munich was traveling alone on Saturday and wanted to do the climbing tour on the Viererspitz unaccompanied.
On Sunday, other climbers found him: on the approach to the Viererspitze Südwest-Grat climbing route, they noticed a lifeless male and called the police.
The accident was then recorded by the officials of the Alpine Task Force (AEG).
They quickly found out that the 39-year-old who had been involved in the accident had set off on the climbing tour the day before and that he also fell that day, suffering fatal injuries.

Fatal mountain accident in Mittenwald: Munich crashed
The officials of the Alpine Task Force of the Police Headquarters Oberbayern Süd are now investigating the course of the accident.
