It was a pretty stunt that could have gone wrong that a 33-year-old woman involuntarily indulged in this Wednesday evening in Nanterre.
The accident, as spectacular as it was, ended without causing any casualties.
Around 11 p.m., a police crew drove towards the local police station.
When they arrive at Place Nelson-Mandela, this circular square at Terrasses de Nanterre, a few meters from the prefecture, their attention is drawn to a car arriving at very high speed.
The Renault comes from the avenue François-Arago and goes straight on the square.
She then hits the sidewalk.
Under the shock and with the speed, the car jumps and rolls over several times before falling back on its four wheels, stopped or rather smashed by a concrete block in the middle of the embankment of this false roundabout.
Late night in drunk tank
The police approach but a door opens and the driver gets out of her car.
"I'm fine, I'm not hurt," she tells them straight out.
If the shock was brief, the evening must have been busy.
The young woman smells of alcohol several meters away.
While her vehicle reduced to the state of wreckage is directed to the pound, the soaked driver was taken to the Max-Fourestier hospital to undergo a blood test in order to precisely quantify her blood alcohol level.
The exams completed, she was taken to a drunk tank at the Nanterre police station to finish the night there pending possible legal action.
