(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 18 - Last Sunday, the ship Alghero, engaged in the exercise 'Mare Aperto 22 - Italian Minex22', located and identified a military device dating back to the Second World War in the waters facing the coast of Cagliari at a depth of about 19 meters.
The Navy makes this known, adding that all the authorities concerned have been informed and that the area has been banned by order of the Port Authority of Cagliari, while for the subsequent actions the determinations of the Prefecture of the Sardinian capital will have to be awaited.
The activities of the minesweeper group will continue in the area of Sardinia until next 27 May.
