It is an event in the world of basketball. Considered one of the best NBA players, the Frenchman is transferred to the Timberwolves.

It was an insistent rumour.

He was announced as leaving.

It is now done.

According to ESPN, Rudy Gobert, 30, is changing franchise and will no longer wear the colors of the Utah Jazz next season.

The French pivot takes the direction of the Minnesota Wolves.

An earthquake on planet NBA.

With three All Star Game selections, nine seasons across the Atlantic, the Habs were one of the pillars of their franchise.

Under his new colors he will evolve in particular with the two stars Karl Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards.

To make this possible, its leaders from Salt Lake City and Minnesota have imagined a huge exchange, with several players who will go the opposite way: Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler and Jareed Vanderbilt.

At least that was needed to compensate for the huge contract signed in December 2020 by the Frenchman (205 million dollars between 2021 and 2026), making him the highest paid French sportsman in history.

During this period of transfers in the NBA, called free-agency on the other side of the Atlantic, Rudy Gobert was also followed by the Chicago Bulls.

Olympic vice-champion last summer at the Tokyo Olympics with the France team, he has not yet won an NBA championship title.

A lack in his list which will perhaps be filled by this arrival in this new franchise.
