The welcoming committee was not favorable to him.
Incidents erupted this Sunday in Bruz, near Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), between the police and demonstrators who were trying to prevent a meeting of Jordan Bardella organized as part of the internal campaign for the presidency of the National Rally (RN), confirmed the local federation of the party.
The red "antifa" militias of #Rennes are trying to prevent us from holding our public meeting in Brittany.
I tell them very clearly: intimidation will not work and we will come together as planned.
Thank you to the police mobilized against these thugs!

The Ille-et-Vilaine federation of the RN explained that demonstrators managed to infiltrate near a farm where the meeting of Jordan Bardella was to be held.
"They made a very coordinated attack, they burned tires, they had firecrackers that exploded next to children, it's very serious," said the same source.
The anti-fascist General Assembly of Rennes had launched an appeal for several days "to prevent the holding of this meeting", notes Ouest-France.
Unable to assess the reality of the threat, unable to prevent the violence of the far left, unable to protect honest citizens who go to a rural political meeting, the Prefect of Ille-et-Vilaine is below of everything!@J_Bardella

The president of the Rassemblement National group at the Regional Council of Brittany, Gilles Pennelle, questioned the lack of anticipation of the local prefecture, which had not reacted on Sunday at the start of the afternoon.
“It was extremely violent.
There are cars that have been completely destroyed, they have broken windows and are dented”.
The federation has confirmed that Jordan Bardella was finally able to access the meeting venue by car.
“Antifa militias” according to Bardella
The acting president of the RN reacted in a tweet: “Antifa militias managed to access the farm where our meeting was to be held.
A Molotov cocktail was thrown at one of our cars which caught fire.
It is a real scandal for which the prefect of Ille-et-Vilaine is directly responsible!
“, he protested.
As usual, the far-left militias incubated by the power tried to prevent the holding of this rally here in Brittany.
But you are there, many and mobilized.
Thank you to all the police and gendarmes who ensure our safety!
