A young German man was arrested on a plane at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on Sunday morning.
The 22-year-old told a fellow passenger shortly before departure that he had a bomb with him, the Dutch border police said.
However, no explosives were found during the search of the man and the aircraft.
The machine started about 30 minutes late – without the German passenger.
Why the man said he had a bomb with him is still unclear.
He still has to be interrogated, said a police spokesman for the ANP news agency.
