The cabinet around Markus Söder met on the Corona situation.

In some areas, the rules have been relaxed.

An overview.

Munich – The Bavarian cabinet around Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) announced so-called “rule simplifications” for the Free State on Tuesday.

In one point, the Free State goes beyond the joint federal-state decision of Monday evening.

Head of the State Chancellery Florian Herrmann described the easing as “no fundamental changes”.

For the affected areas, however, it is a huge change.

Above all, the end of the ghost games at national sporting events caused a surprise.

The new regulations will apply from Thursday (January 27).

In the Bundesliga and in all other professional leagues, up to 10,000 spectators will be allowed to play again in Bavaria.

In addition to this absolute upper limit, the following applies to national sporting events with more than 1000 spectators: A maximum of 25 percent of the capacity may be used.

Fans must be vaccinated or recovered and additionally tested (or boosted) and wear an FFP2 mask.

There is also a ban on alcohol.

At the same time - analogous to sport - the complete ban on large national cultural events is lifted: If more than 1000 spectators are expected, the spectator capacity may be utilized to a maximum of 25 percent.

As with major sporting events, there is an absolute upper limit of 10,000 spectators for concerts, for example.

At all other cultural and sporting events, twice as many spectators will be allowed in the future as before: In theaters, cinemas and at other cultural and sporting events, a spectator capacity of up to 50 percent will be allowed again from Thursday - previously it was 25 percent.

The previously applicable access rules (2G plus or 2G) remain unchanged, and an FFP2 mask requirement continues to apply at events.

Further loosening in the area of youth work and driving school is coming

According to Herrmann, the minimum corona distances should not have to be observed everywhere in cinemas and theaters.

"Every organizer should have the opportunity to increase capacity from 25 to 50 percent."

In addition, there will be a relaxation of the access rules for youth work offers: underage pupils who are regularly tested at school anyway will no longer have to submit proof of vaccination or any further tests.

In master schools and driving schools, the 3G rule now applies instead of the 2G.

The federal and state governments had actually agreed on Monday that the heads of the state and senate offices should agree on uniform regulations for major national events by February 9th.

Bayern is now taking action, as Söder threatened at the end of last week.

He justifies this by saying that in other federal states, significantly more spectators are already allowed, for example at football games.
