New Zealand decided today to temporarily suspend entry to all travelers coming to the country from India, including its citizens, for about two weeks after the arrival of a large number of cases of coronavirus infection from there.

The move comes after New Zealand recorded 23 new cases of corona at its borders today, including 17 cases from India.

Reuters reported that the decision was announced by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern at a press conference in Auckland, in which she said: "We are temporarily suspending the entry of travelers from India to New Zealand."

India is fighting a second deadly wave of Covid 19, and daily cases of infection with the virus have exceeded the peak of the first wave that the country witnessed last September.

The suspension will start from the 11th of this month and will continue until the 28th of the same month.

During this period, the government will discuss risk management measures to resume travel.
