Neymar thinks of playing his last World Cup in Qatar and wonders about his future

If Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal and Messi's Argentina qualify for the next World Cup, in 2022, in Qatar, the two stars will be respectively 37 and 35 years old at the start of the competition.

By following the same trajectory, Neymar, currently 29, could at least project himself until 2026, and the World Cup organized jointly by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The wish of the PSG striker seems quite different, however, according to one of his statements in the documentary Neymar Jr. and the Line of Kings, available on the sports streaming site DAZN.

“I think it's my last World Cup.

I don't know if I have the mental strength to continue in football ”, he explains thoughtfully.

"My biggest dream since I was little"

The one who is one of the 30 nominated for the 2021 Golden Ball, awarded next November, nevertheless warns that he will "do everything" to win the World Cup with his selection.

“It's my biggest dream since I was little.

I hope I can do it, ”he adds.

Since his debut with the Seleção in 2010, Neymar has won only one major title: the 2016 Olympic Games. Last July, he burst into tears after his team's defeat against Argentina (0-1), at home, in the Copa America final.
