Cologne – The animal shelter in Cologne-Dellbrück has been busy for a few days.

Nine little shepherd puppies romp around the grounds and keep the employees on their toes.

"Puppy alarm in all corners!" The animal shelter announces this on its Facebook page, as reported by 24rhein.de.

Growth at the Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter: the veterinary office saves nine puppies

The playful little shepherds are at the shelter for a sad reason, though.

"A few days ago, the veterinary office seized nine German Shepherd puppies from poor care," says a Facebook post.

The animals now have to be checked out by a veterinarian.

►The Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter (district of Cologne-Mühlheim) has been helping animals in need since 1968.

Thousands of animals live there every year.

Around 30 employees look after the dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, birds and wild animals with full dedication and commitment every day.

It is particularly important to the shelter that the animals are placed in a great new family.

The shelter is a private association that is mainly financed by donations.

Cologne: Nine shepherd puppies in the Dellbrück animal shelter – no mediation for the time being

Only when it is clear that the shepherd puppies, who are housed in the Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter, are doing well, do they go to mediation.

Therefore, the shelter asks to refrain from inquiries for the time being.

As soon as the little rascals have been checked through and are allowed to receive visitors, the animal shelter wants to provide information on Facebook, among other things.

Some people have already met there who think the puppies are cute and are happy that the animals have safe accommodation.

Puppies at the Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter: Schäferhund-Express takes animals to the outlet

Until then, the nine puppies drive around with the "Schäferhund-Express", writes the animal shelter on Facebook.

Behind it is a rolling open container that helps the animal shelter staff to get the little ones into the run.

On a leash this would certainly be a mammoth task.
