In 2007 he pioneered a segment, that of SUVs-crossover, which would soon make its way into the hearts of European customers, and beyond.

Five million units sold all over the world, three in Europe with Italy which has done its part, in these fourteen years, winning over 340 thousand customers over the course of two different generations.

With the third generation, Nissan Qashqai grows in size and matures in style, bringing on board all the evolution of technology, infotainment and safety that have always been a trademark of the Japanese brand.

The new CMF-C platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance has made it possible to significantly improve dynamics compared to that of the previous generation, thanks to a body that is 48% stiffer. The engineers have been able to more precisely calibrate the suspension and shock absorbers, which now react better to the roughness of the road surface, allowing a more precise driving and a more direct response as well as reduction of vibrations. The shell is also over 60 kilos lighter thanks to the use of lightweight aluminum.

The rear suspensions are available in two torsional bridge configurations, in the case of two-wheel drive or rims up to 19 ", and multilink combined with four-wheel drive or 20" rims. The steering has also been improved which, compared to that of the previous generation, is certainly more precise and direct.

But the real novelty for Qashqai is represented by the engines with which this car is equipped: the SUV is the first model of the brand on sale exclusively in an electrified version. At launch, the range consists of two new fully electrified engines, a 140 or 158 HP 1.3 mild hybrid, and the exclusive e-POWER, which will only arrive in 2022.

The mild hybrid can be combined with the 6-speed manual gearbox or the new Xtronic automatic gearbox, designed to guarantee the best response in all driving conditions. The new 4WD system is able to adapt to external conditions and driving style, just select one of the five available modes: Standard, ECO, Sport, Snow and Off-Road. Three driving modes (Standard, ECO and Sport) available for the 2WD range.

The third generation of Nissan Qashqai grows in 'form' (+35 mm in length and +32 mm in width with a wheelbase increased by 20 mm) and matures in 'substance', equipping itself with new and innovative driving assistance functions and connectivity. The new ProPILOT autonomous driving system comes on board, now with Navi-link, which assists the driver in an ever-increasing number of situations. News also for safety technologies.

The Moving Object Detection system has been perfected to avoid reverse collisions and can now apply the brakes if it detects a moving obstacle in the rear of the car. The new Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking with predictive function, supported by advanced radar technology, reads the road past the car in front, detects if a vehicle suddenly brakes and if necessary activates the Qashqai braking system.

Still on the subject of safety, there is now a new central airbag. The blind spot monitoring system can intervene on the steering to help prevent lane changes.

New Qashqai has an advanced infotainment system with class-leading connectivity services. The 10.8 "Head Up Display (HUD) is the largest in the segment, and is paired with the new 12.3" high definition digital multifunction instrument cluster. The infotainment and navigation system has also been updated and now has a 9 "HD digital touch screen with a new graphic interface. With the NissanConnect Services app you can remotely manage, directly from your smartphone or from Alexa and Google devices, the horn, lights, door opening / closing.

The list includes six versions available in the range: Visia, Acenta, Business, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna +, equipped with DIG-T 1.3 petrol engine with mild hybrid technology, 140 and 158 HP. The entry price of 25,500 euros for the Visia version, with 140 HP mild hybrid engine, 2WD and 6-speed manual gearbox. The top of the range is represented by the Tekna + for sale 42,690 euros (4WD).
