Called Mobilité360, the joint project is based on the observation that new mobility services have developed too much "in silos", without complementarity or dialogue between operators and public authorities.

"We have initiated several months (...) a real reflection on the optimization of mobility offers and on the reinvention of the use of the car in urban areas"

, noted Clotilde Delbos, Managing Director of Mobilize, the Renault car-sharing subsidiary.

“Together, we want to put our expertise and know-how at the service of public authorities to find sustainable, green and shared uses of the car for all citizens. This is what we particularly want to experiment with this first initiative '1,000 Ile-de-France residents without a car' ”

, she added.

Getting rid of the private car

This is

"an experimental project to demonstrate the feasibility of a new mobility system that does away with the private car,"

Joël Hazan, associate director of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), told AFP. consulting firm that supports the four partners.

Participants will be constantly monitored to measure changes in use, understand the limits of the current model and assess new solutions, as well as the budget necessary to have a continuous and quality mobility offer, according to Joël Hazan.

"We know that the answer is not to wait for the next miraculous technology, but rather to develop together this (common) solution to simplify our transport system, free up public space and make our cities more attractive and pleasant, ”

commented Laureline Serieys, Managing Director of Uber France.
