Mom of three Kate Middleton is there when a lonely child needs help.

During a train ride without any bodyguards, she keeps a boy company.

However, the eight-year-old did not know that a duchess was sitting next to him.

Birmingham – Anyone who meets Kate Middleton (40) when she is not surrounded by cameras can count herself lucky.

Matthew Syed owes his meeting with Prince William's (40) wife a train journey.

As the British journalist reveals in his column for The Times, he accompanied his son to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, which Kate Middleton also attended.

While husband William and daughter Charlotte (8) arrived by helicopter, Kate decided to take the train – to the delight of Syed, who promptly shared his surprising conversation with her with the public.

As the father of the family was using the toilet on the train, he heard his son waiting outside the door being approached by a woman who asked if he was alone and then "chatted happily with him".

Syed didn't realize it was Kate until he left the toilet.

"I came out to thank her - and then almost fell over.

It was Kate! ", the journalist described his astonishment in a tweet.
