Oil prices fell slightly after several days of gains that pushed prices to a seven-year high on fears of tight supplies.
According to Reuters, Brent crude futures fell six cents, or 0.07 percent, to settle at $88.38 a barrel.
Brent crude rose to $89.17 yesterday, its highest level since October 2014, and has risen by 13 percent since the beginning of this year.
US contracts for US light sweet crude for February delivery also lost six cents, or 0.07 percent, to settle at $86.90 a barrel.
US crude has risen 15 percent since the beginning of this year.
