Jessica von Bredow-Werndl won the gold medal in dressage in Tokyo.
The 35-year-old German and her horse Dalera had a strong 91,732 points.
Isabell Werth took silver on Bella Rosa with 89,657 points.
Bronze went to Charlotte Dujardin from Great Britain on Gio with 88,543 points.
On Tuesday the German dressage riders were already successful in the group.
Werth, von Bredow-Werndl and Dorothee Schneider were ahead of the USA and Great Britain after a dominant performance and secured gold in the team.
Werth missed a historic success with second place in Tokyo.
A victory in the individual elimination would have meant her eighth gold medal, which would have drawn her level with canoeist Birgit Fischer as the most successful German Olympic athlete in history.
