Record world champion Simone Biles has also canceled her starts in the jump and on the uneven bars at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The US association announced this one day before the decisions on Sunday.
It is still open whether the 24-year-old will start on the ground (Monday) and the balance beam (Tuesday).
"We still have the greatest respect for Simone, who masters this situation with courage and dignity, as well as for all athletes who have stood by her in these unusual circumstances," announced the association.
MyKayla Skinner will start in the jump decision for Biles.
Biles had already refrained from starting in the all-around final on Thursday.
On Tuesday, she abandoned her competition after the first of four rounds at the team final and then explained this with mental problems.
