On the occasion of President Bashar al-Assad’s taking the constitutional oath and the Syrian Arab Army Day, a carnival celebration was held this evening in Al-Orouba Square in the city of Hama, entitled “Your Oath and Our Covenant.”

The celebration included military, artistic and sports performances, and presentation of documentary clips of the Syrian Arab Army's heroism in its response to terrorism across the geography of the country, and excerpts from President al-Assad's speeches on several occasions in a carnival atmosphere.

Engineer Raeda Aqoula, a member of the Executive Office of the Hama Governorate Council who is supervising the celebration, said in a statement to SANA reporter, “Through this celebration, we wanted to send a message of pledge and loyalty that we are following President al-Assad’s leadership towards the reconstruction of the future Syria.”

Aqoula explained that what distinguishes the celebration is the participation of the Syrian Arab Army units, the armed forces and the internal security forces in the performances, given that the occasion coincides with the Army Day, pointing to the active and expressive participation of the wounded in the performances, in addition to the participation of sports, artistic and student teams with a display of carnival cars from various public authorities.

The celebration was attended by the Governor of Hama, Eng. Muhammad Tariq Krishati, and the Secretary of the Hama Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Eng. Ashraf Bashouri, as well as official and civil events.
