One person was killed and two were injured after a small plane caught fire after crashing into the Haulover Inlet bridge in Miami on Saturday.
The aircraft hit a vehicle that was traveling on the bridge, in which a mother and two small children were traveling, although they were unharmed.
"It is miraculous that you go in a vehicle with two infants and that you find yourself, after an accident like these, that everything is fine," said Alvaro Zabaleta, spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police.
Zabaleta reported that two of the injured were airlifted to the hospital and the other was taken to the medical center by land.
The deceased person died while he was receiving medical attention.
In the first images of the incident, the cars are seen stopped at 10800 Collins Avenue, north of Miami Beach, while the plane is on fire.
Aviation authorities are investigating the accident and more details are expected in the coming hours.
The highway will remain closed until the authorities present at the site determine that they have collected enough evidence, Zabaleta reported.
