Paris: One dead after being shot in front of the hospital

Shots rang out in front of the Henry Dunant Hospital in the 16th arrondissement of Paris early on Monday afternoon.

At least two people were initially injured in the incident near the Bois de Boulogne.

As reported by the French broadcaster BFMTV, citing the police, a victim is said to have died in the meantime.

He suffered several head injuries.

A woman from the hospital security service was injured and she was receiving medical care.

The alleged shooter was fleeting, he left with a motorcycle.

So far, nothing is known about the background to the crime.

Henry Dunant Hospital specializes in the treatment of the elderly;

it currently also houses a corona vaccination center.
