In the victory over Metz, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored his next goal for Paris. The game was interrupted briefly - apparently because of a homophobic banner.

At the start of the fourth match day, Paris Saint-Germain has taken the lead in Ligue 1. The defending champion won 2-0 at FC Metz (2-0) and is first with nine points ahead of Stade Rennes, which plays against Nice on Sunday. On Saturday Olympique Lyon can pass by the team of coach Thomas Tuchel

Scorers were Ángel di María by penalty (11 minutes) and former Bundesliga professional Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (43). Already against Toulouse he had scored two goals in 4: 0. With three goals, the 30-year-old is the most successful player in the Paris squad after the fourth matchday.

But this is mainly due to the staffing problems that plague PSG. On the one hand star striker Kylian Mbappé and Edinson Cavani are injured. And then there's Neymar. The Brazilian was again out of the squad and could still leave the club, Real Madrid and especially Neymar's former club Barcelona are considered as interested parties.

Game interruption in half one

Choupo-Moting was surprisingly transferred in the summer of 2018 from the second English league from Stoke City to Paris, where he served as a substitute for the seed star striker set. In 31 competitive matches he had five goals participations succeeded. For the HSV, Nuremberg, Mainz and Schalke he previously played a total of 204 Bundesliga games.

The match in Metz was interrupted for about two minutes by referee Frank Schneider from the 21st minute. Occasion was evidently in the fan block of the host unrolled homophobic banner. It was directed against the French League Association and PSG.

On Wednesday evening, the league game between Nice and Marseille had been interrupted for homophobic shouts and banners of some Nice fans for twelve minutes.
