Paris Marathon: beware of traffic restrictions

2021-10-16T04:09:37.598Z

Seven arrondissements crossed by the runners, a start on the Champs-Élysées ... This Sunday, many traffic restrictions

The route was designed to make the Paris marathon, this Sunday, one of the most beautiful in the capital.

Seven districts will thus be crossed by the runners, with a start on the most beautiful avenue in the world.

After the Champs-Élysées, pass through the Place de la Concorde, a small detour via the Opéra Garnier, pass near the Louvre Museum, then towards the Hôtel de Ville, and in continuation, the Place de la Bastille.

The competitors will then have to make a loop in the Bois de Vincennes and in front of its castle before returning to intramural Paris.

They will then have to walk along the banks of the right bank, in front of the Musée d'Orsay.

They will pass near Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Grand Palais and the Trocadéro, and may get intoxicated by the Eiffel Tower on the other side of the Seine.

The last part of the route will take them to Porte d'Auteuil before going up to the Bois de Boulogne and arriving on Avenue Foch (16th arrondissement), not far from Place de l'Étoile and Place de l'Arc. de Triomphe.

The aptly named.

Place de la Bastille, and several closed avenues

Given the particularity of the route, the restrictions on use will therefore apply to motorists who have not chosen to go for a walk in the forest this Sunday.

A certain number of public spaces and main roads will thus be neutralized from 7 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., with the most important ones: the Place de la Bastille, the rue de Lyon, the avenues Daumesnil and Ledru-Rollin, the rue du Faubourg. -Saint-Antoine, the rue de Reuilly, the Porte Dorée, the rue de Charenton, the Morland bridge.

The Esplanade Saint-Louis, the route de la Pyramide, the route Saint-Hubert, the route du Pesage, the avenue de Gravelle, and the avenue de la Porte de Charenton will also be prohibited to traffic.

From this Friday (6 p.m.) and until Sunday (4 p.m.), you will finally have to find another place to park your vehicle outside the rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine (even numbered side), from the intersection with the avenue Ledru-Rollin over a distance of 150 m towards rue de Reuilly (in the direction of the course).

This in order not to hinder the installation of technical installations, and to secure the passage of the race.
