- The hero of your last novel is a young man passionate about poetry who is gradually being taken over by the modern world, a world of “anti-poets”.
Why did you choose a hero poet?

- The extravagance of Cyrille Bertrand (the hero of the novel) is to hope to combine poetry and success.
He thinks of Valery Larbaud, poet and millionaire, forgetting that he was an heir.
A young novelist, at a pinch, can hope to live one day from his novels: a poet will never live from his collections.
By placing the hero in an impossible situation, I confront him with this world of “anti-poets”, our world.
But Cyrille will end, too, by abandoning poetry, in favor of romantic prose.
