The Technical Services Directorate in Damascus Countryside has implemented a project of maintenance, paving and asphalting of the Barada Spring Road, Lake Zarzar, which connects to the Damascus-Beirut highway, at a cost of more than 70 million Syrian pounds, as it is considered a supplement to the Damascus Zabadani highway.

The head of the local council in the village of Rawda, Abdul Raouf Mazloum, stated in a statement to the delegate of SANA that this road is of great importance as it relieves congestion in the Al-Tekiya area during the summer period and gives more vitality and activity to the Zabadani area and its surroundings.

Mazloum pointed out that the municipal council also implemented two other projects, the first included asphalting and rehabilitating the northern entrance to the village of Rawda to the municipality building at a cost of 24 million pounds, while the second project includes asphalting the road between the small mosque and the charitable complex at a cost of about 19 million pounds, and an optical cable was laid that starts from the junction. The Barada spring to the village of Rawda to improve the performance of the fixed phone and the Internet, since the kindergarten's exchange was only used wirelessly at a cost of about 40 million pounds

Regarding the water situation, the council chairman affirmed that the village suffers from a severe shortage of drinking water, especially during the summer season, calling on the concerned authorities to diligently equip the two wells that have been drilled, one in Al Rawda and the second in Hosh village, to end the suffering of the people in the two villages and improve the water situation.

The council had planted about 200 walnut trees and a number of ornamental trees in some roads and inside the municipality's villages during the month of April.
