Pedophilia: behind closed doors at the trial of Joël Le Scouarnec

The "Jonzac surgeon" faces twenty years of criminal imprisonment for "rape" and "sexual assault" on four people.


As in March, the Assize Court of Charente-Maritime decreed this Monday, November 30, a total closed door to the trial of Joël Le Scouarnec, according to concordant sources.

The one who is nicknamed the “Jonzac surgeon” is tried from Monday to Thursday in Saintes for sexual assaults and rapes allegedly committed between 1989 and 2017 on four minors at the time of the facts.

This closed session was notably requested by the lawyer of two nieces of the accused, Aurélie * and Héléna *.

Their advice Me Delphine Driguez had told

Figaro

before the hearing that she would make this request

"so that it goes as well as possible"

.

She also mentioned

"appalling"

writings and photos that

she did not want to show in public.

"Silence" for "thirty years"

Conversely, Me Francesca Satta, the lawyer for Lisa *, the little girl who denounced the accused in April 2017 and allowed his arrest, wanted the hearing to be at least partly public.

"In camera, somewhere, it is still perpetuating the silence enjoyed by Joël Le Scouarnec for thirty years,"

said Me Satta.

In addition to the four cases for which he is currently on trial, Joël Le Scouarnec is suspected of having committed sexual assault and rape on 312 people, mainly children, during his career as a surgeon in the west of France (Nantes , Loches, Vannes, Lorient, Quimperlé, Jonzac ...).
