Work is at full speed on the new kindergarten on Jägerstrasse in Peiting.

Before the onset of winter, the building is to be pulled up and sealed.

Peiting

- Anyone walking along Jägerstrasse in Peiting these days can see it from afar: the new kindergarten is taking shape, the first walls are already in place.

The ambitious goal of getting the building ready for occupancy by the kindergarten year 2022/23 is set.

"As far as the weather is okay, we want to get the building closed before winter," explains Mayor Peter Ostenrieder.

"A lot is going to happen very quickly now" on this construction site.

Daycare construction site has high priority in Peiting

In fact, it looks good.

"After concreting in three sections, we are already pulling up the first walls," says market builder Fabian Kreitl.

“It can now be done quickly.” In the first phase of construction, a part of the shuttered ceiling comes onto the building.

But get all of that tight, including windows and doors?

"We hope for a late onset of winter," admits the town hall chief Ostenrieder that nothing is certain.

Especially because the Therese-Peter-Haus for children is bursting at the seams with emergency groups in its own facility and the neighboring school, the daycare construction site in the town hall has a high priority.

There is a weekly meeting on site with the planners, the market builder and the treasurer.

Daycare construction site in Peiting: delivery bottlenecks for building materials noticeable

The fact that there are currently delivery bottlenecks in construction materials due to the pandemic: The Peiting market has already felt this at the daycare construction site. “We had that under the base plate with the KG pipes,” confirms Fabian Kreitl. The experts have found an alternative solution to this problem. In fact, the construction companies have already signaled that there could be a shortage of other materials that are required. “At the moment, building is like playing the lottery.” Whether steel, wood, sheet metal or insulating material: all of this is extremely difficult to come by. There are also delivery bottlenecks for windows, says Kreitl. Even the construction companies do not know which material they will get when and at which current price.

Nevertheless, there is hope that everything will go like clockwork at this construction site in Peiting.

If the winter is mild, the building on the corner of Jägerstrasse and Uhrerskreuzweg could “be closed by the end of November or by the beginning of December at the latest”, Kreitl hopes optimistically.

Then at least nothing stands in the way of interior construction - provided there is enough material.

Too few kindergarten places, too few staff - there is hardly a place that does not have such problems.

There was also worrying news this year in Peiting.

But the summer vacation was well used.
