Suspended " sine die " by the head of state in mid-March, pension reform remains a highly flammable subject. In an interview with the regional daily press published on July 3, the President of the Republic affirmed that " there would (there would be) no abandonment " of his project of universal system, which he always judges " just Even if he says he is " open " to his reform " being transformed ".

He also wishes to " quickly re-engage in-depth consultation (...) from the summer on (the) aspect of financial balance " and considers that " the question of the number of years during which we contribute remains raised ". But the CFDT and FO are not at all the same opinion. " The debate on increasing working hours would be a red line ," warned Laurent Berger on France Inter .

"The priority of priorities, it must be employment"

" We are in a very complicated situation economically and socially, " said the secretary general of the CFDT, for whom " the priority of priorities must be employment ". " We are not going to get fucked up on the issue of pensions in this period, " he added.

After the long strikes in December and January, then the use of 49-3 in the Assembly in early March, " we risk reopening tension, a social conflict ", for his part, warned Yves Veyrier on Europe 1 . " This is really not the time to put this file on the table, " insisted the leader of FO, who intends to establish ties with the other union and employer leaders to send a common message to the President of the Republic: " We must let him be told no ”.
