Through a tweet sent on Tuesday, the Pentagon reported that
it is closed
due to police activity in the area.

been fired at a subway station
near the military installation.

reported that a reporter from its newsroom had seen two police officers administering first aid to two people at the Pentagon Transit Center subway station, located in Arlington, Virginia.
"The Pentagon is currently closed due to an incident at the Pentagon Transit Center. We ask the public to please avoid circulating in the area," the tweet read.
The Pentagon currently is on lock down due to an incident at the Pentagon Transit Center.
