Wanted a man with a shaved head, striped shirt, violent and fast.

So elusive, that the agents who have been looking for him since July 2020, after he attacked a woman with a knife in a portal in Torrevieja (Alicante), have exhausted almost all his options.

The National Police and the Civil Guard have released images of the alleged attacker to request citizen collaboration and obtain clues as to his whereabouts.

He is charged with attempted murder.

And nobody seems to have crossed paths with him again.

A member of the Crime Unit (UDEV) describes the events as a “very strange event”.

On July 16, 2020, the alleged murderer passed in front of a store in the town of Alicante.

The security cameras showed him calm, walking with a firm and agile step.

He was wearing a striped T-shirt and shorts, his hair was shaved short and he wore sunglasses.

This is how it appears in the first images of the broadcast video.

Shortly after, a 58-year-old woman entered his portal, located on the corner of San Pascual and Joaquín Chapaprieta streets.

The suspect sneaked up behind her and assaulted her, armed with a knife.

"He does not exchange a word with the victim, he does not establish any communication," the researchers recall.

“He simply attacks her, without further ado,” they continue.

The woman's screams alerted a neighbor from the same building, who came out of her house to see what was happening.

As soon as he realized the situation, he went towards the assailant, who escaped.

The camera of another establishment recorded the escape, in which the man, chased by the neighbor who foiled the attack, ran past two women and a girl who were crouching in another doorway.

This sequence is the culmination of the video released by the security forces.

After that, the assailant disappeared without leaving any more clues.

From the UDEV they point out that, after being treated by the health services, the victim, "who, fortunately, had hardly any blows to the face and some minor injuries", testified that everything had been very fast.

She entered the house and the man immediately attacked her from behind her.

She did not refer to touching or any other behavior of a sexual nature, ”the police sources point out.

The assailant, whom he did not know, did not steal anything from him either.

"There is no apparent reason [for the aggression]", indicate the sources of the investigation, although they point out that this may be due to "the speed with which the neighbor intervened".

The sudden violence is what most worries the researchers, who point out that it could be repeated in other cases.

Initially, the investigation fell to the Homicide and Disappearance Group of the Civil Guard in Alicante, because Torrevieja is a demarcation of the armed institute.

During the course of the investigation, the case also reached the central unit of the UDEV in Madrid, although they have not specified by what means.

Since then, both bodies have shared their information in an investigation, but it has already reached an impasse.

"Saving the images in a drawer did not lead anywhere", maintain an investigator, and that led to communicating the decision to disseminate them to the Torrevieja judge who is investigating the case.

"Any person who can provide information about the events, can do so on the phone 609777867, anonymously and confidentially," the Police and Civil Guard explain in a statement.
