Against a background of American rap, a young policeman changes from his civilian clothes (khaki parka, cap upside down) to his police uniform.
Border police, raid, mountain rescue… He presents almost all the trades, staging himself on the steps of the Sacré-Coeur, in a short video with dynamic, modern, “cool” editing.
This is the first publication of the official account of the national police, which landed Thursday at midday on the social network TikTok.
A network frequented in France by 11 million people, including 41% of young people aged 16 to 24.

“TikTok is the vector for young people.
We want to present alternative content, a diversified offer, ”explains Sonia Fibleuil, spokesperson for the national police.
The bet is daring.
TikTok is known more for its choreography than for messages from institutions.
Give young people "the right image of the police"
But the police consider that they must be on these networks to improve their image with young people.
“Our wish”, she continues, is to ensure that young people have “the right image of the police”.
In January, she already invested Snapchat and her account totals 50,000 followers.
Their first TikTok video has just over 1,600 likes in six hours, and the account has over 4,700 followers.
“There is no question of lecturing.
There will be messages of prevention, protection, offset messages.
We want to show young people who we are, to explain our job.
If we do not do it, nobody will do it, ”adds the spokesperson, who does not set any quantified objective.

To address this audience, the police have planned to call on the young people themselves to "co-create videos" and "little scenarios". “Make your Police” is also its launch message on TikTok.
