In an almost unprecedented step, all the trade unions, ranging from Alliance to SGP Police Unit, to the unions of commissioners and officers, to those of administrative staff including those of the scientific and technical police, have decided on these joint actions during a videoconference this Thursday afternoon, several participants told AFP.

On Wednesday 5 May at the end of the afternoon, Brigadier Eric Masson, 36, was shot dead at a deal point, in the center of Avignon, where he had been called with his crew.

His colleagues retaliated, but failed to stop the gunman who was still at large on Thursday evening.

At the end of Thursday morning, from Avignon, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, organized a video conference with the police unions to assure them of his support and promise to receive them, in person, next week. But the unions have already decided to give voice to show their discomfort with a "

march

" on May 19 in Paris. They also decided not to participate on May 17 in the "

Beauvau de la sécurité

" whose round tables at the Ministry of the Interior were to resume that day. On the menu of that of May 17: the maintenance of order.
