2021-07-23T15:16:07.250Z

The pornographic site offers an interactive guide to erotic art. The Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay said they had not been informed of the use of their works. The Uffizi Museum in Florence is considering taking legal action.

For Pornhub, most people think of museums as "

boring, stuffy or bland

".

But don't panic, the pornographic video platform has found the solution: to offer an interactive guide to "

some of the sexiest scenes in history in the most famous museums in the world

".

Here is the ambitious project of its new website: “

Classic Nudes

”, launched on July 13th.

“Now

is the time to ditch those boring audio guides and enjoy every brushstroke of these erotic artwork with me,

” laughed American porn actress and brand ambassador Asa Akira. It was chosen to present

the Origin of the World

by Courbet,

Lunch on the Grass

by Manet or the

Grande Odalisque

by Ingres. While the Italian actress, the Cicciolina has become the face of the promotional video for "

Classic Nudes

" where she plays a Venus (more very fresh) by Botticelli.

From the Louvre, to the MET (New York) via the National Gallery (United Kingdom), more than thirty works of art are in the spotlight.

The ambition would therefore be to dust off the image of museums and encourage the public to visit institutions that have recently reopened, after a forced closure due to Covid-19.

The idea did not have the good fortune to appeal to museums.

A project launched without the agreement of the museums

Asked by

Le Figaro,

the Louvre wished to recall that it

"is not a partner in this operation and has in no way collaborated with this platform"

. Museum management has also been keen to deny rumors that the museum has taken legal action against Pornhub. "

We are discovering

" this initiative added the management, visibly taken aback by this campaign. Same story for the Musée d'Orsay which, for the moment, does not wish to comment on this affair.

The Uffizi Museum in Florence has decided to step up to the plate. In the columns of the Italian newspaper

Il Fatto daily

, the management of the institution declared: “

This is one of the many cases of commercial use of our images without any authorization. In these cases, we always do the same thing, there is a specific law and we want it to be respected.

According to the Italian press, the institution has already sent a warning to the Canadian company MindGeek, owner of Pornhub. What will the MET, the Prado and the other major museums do whose works are used without their consent for erotic-commercial purposes?

This is not the first time that Pornhub has been at the heart of a controversy.

In December 2020, in an article in the New York Times, the site was accused of having disseminated child pornography.

False had replied the platform, one of the busiest in the world, before removing a lot of content.

Last month in the United States, 34 women also filed a complaint against Pornhub, described as a "

classic criminal enterprise

" disseminating non-consensual reports.
