The sports car manufacturer Porsche is faced with a new wave of claims for damages in the USA.
According to SPIEGEL information, the Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein law firm filed a lawsuit on behalf of Porsche drivers a few days ago.
You accuse the group of having manipulated the emission control of certain gasoline engines between 2007 and 2017.
Models like the Porsche 911, Panamera, Boxster and Cayenne are said to be affected.
In addition to Lieff Cabraser, several other law firms have filed lawsuits in the case, with more to follow shortly.
Californian judge Charles Breyer has accepted the lawsuits and is likely to bundle them into a class action lawsuit over the next few months.
Porsche is said to have sold vehicles that consume more gasoline on the road and blow CO² into the air than on the test bench.
In order to manipulate the values, the group allegedly installed transmission parts and software in test vehicles that reduced the emissions in the laboratory.
In addition, certain cars in "Sport Plus" driving mode are said to have emitted more pollutants than allowed in the USA.
Porsche says it has identified "issues" in internal audits and reported them to the authorities.
Vehicles in current production are not affected.
In Germany, the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office is investigating employees of the car manufacturer.
