This is the kind of scenario that makes all the magic of football.
On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker delivered his goal with a header from a corner in the 95th minute of play. This goal allows the Reds to win on the lawn of the relegation West Bromwich Albion (2-1) but it keeps them especially in the race for the Champions League for next season.

If Manchester City has already been crowned English champions for a few days, five clubs are still fighting for the last two qualifying places: Leicester, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham and Liverpool which now has every chance of snatching one of its two places.
Indeed, JĂĽrgen Klopp's men are only one point behind fourth place in the standings, the first qualifier for the Champions League.
A place currently occupied by Chelsea who face the third Leicester on Tuesday on behalf of the penultimate day of the Premier League.

This Alisson goal has a very special flavor at the end of this laborious 2020-2021 exercise for the Reds. Voted best goalkeeper in the world in 2019, the Brazilian goalkeeper experienced several physical problems thereafter. Since then, he has struggled to regain his level which had allowed him to play a decisive role in the conquest of the Champions League that year and then the Premier League the following season.
At the final whistle, the giant (1.91 m) Brazilian let down his tears by receiving the hug from his teammates, Jürgen Klopp and some opponents. In February, his father, José Becker, 57, had died, drowned, and Alisson was unable to attend his funeral due to travel restrictions linked to Covid. “I am too moved. These last months, with all that happened for me, for my family… ”, he began at the microphone of Sky Sports after the match. “Football is my life. I have always played it in my earliest memories, with my father and I hope he was there to see it. You can't explain this kind of thing, it's just football (...) There are a lot of things you can explain in life, but for this type of thing,it is God who put his hand on my head today and I feel truly blessed ”.
