VfB Hallbergmoos got a tough opponent in the first Bayernliga game.

- With the promotion to the Bayernliga, VfB Hallbergmoos is looking forward to away games in new stadiums and prominent opponents.

In the very first home game against Türkspor Augsburg (Saturday, 5 p.m.), an exciting selection with several ex-professionals comes to the airport community.

In 2019, Augsburg moved into the Bayernliga Süd as promoted players and fought against relegation until they were canceled: With eighth place and 34 points, the team was just two points away from the team in 14th place.

The Türkspor footballers trembled, changed coach and now ignited the next stage of the rocket.

Before the start of this season, the league is amazed at the big names in the Türkspor squad - many expect the Swabians at the top of the table. There are several examples of the celebrities in the squad - from long-time goalkeeper Thomas Reichlmayr from Pipinsried to former Türkgücü leader Yasin Yilmaz to Sebastian Mitterhuber, who has already kicked for Unterhaching and Burghausen in the third division. It feels like three quarters of the team came from the regional league as regular players, mainly with Pipinsried and Türkgücü pasts. "They are actually in the wrong league with this squad," jokes Hallbergmoos coach Gedi Sugzda.

However, the former professional is far from writing off the opening game prematurely.

Sugzda doesn't even want to discuss one point, "because we basically want to win a home game".

And anyway: “This is not a cup game with a two-tier difference.” Nevertheless, he has little hope that his team will be underestimated by the celebrity selection: Something like this happens at the earliest in the middle of the season, when a team is already beaten at the bottom of the table.

Gedi Sugzda doesn't expect his players to show too much respect and act nervously: “If you stand on the pitch for three minutes, then all of that is forgotten.” Türkspor Augsburg is just a team from the same league. However, the coach will demand some reparation from his protégés after the disappointing Toto Cup qualifying game against Ismaning. This weak performance came as a surprise after VfB had even impressed the regional division Buchbach in the test kick.

In the 0: 1 against FC Ismaning, the Hallbergmooser not only gambled away their participation in the Bavarian Toto Cup, but also lost Ferdinand Kozel: The goalkeeper broke a finger and is definitely not ready to play for the Bayern League premiere.

Martin Dinkel, who was substituted against Ismaning, will now be in goal from the start, which doesn't worry anyone at VfB.

The 20-year-old played eight games as a substitute in the last point round in the regional league and showed strong performances.

Possible VfB line-up:

Dinkel - M. Schrödl, Hammerl, Beierkuhnlein - Mömkes, Kostorz, Edlböck, Giglberger - Gasteiger, Beetz (Petschner) - Diranko.
