Achim Loecher has resigned as President of TV Planegg-Krailling.
The long-time manager of the large sports club gives personal reasons for his decision in an open letter.
Specifically, he names the new 2G regulation, which he sees as “discrimination in its purest form”.
Krailling -
TV Planegg-Krailling has to look for a new president.
In his open letter dated November 18, the previous President Achim Loecher officially announced his immediate resignation.
In the letter, the 61-year-old Kraillinger explains his decision.
"The current political decisions on the subject of Corona measures (especially 2G) can no longer be reconciled with my voluntary work and I personally have a complete lack of understanding," says Loecher's letter.
Silence about personal vaccination status
The head of the Würmtaler club, who has worked in various managerial positions at the Kraillinger Gymnastics Club with over 1800 members for 15 years, describes the limit of acceptance in connection with the increasing pressure on unvaccinated people as part of the current 2G regulations as "far exceeded". "First of all, I would like to emphasize that I am neither a vaccine opponent nor a corona denier. I am aware of the dangers of this virus, and I have found all previous protective measures to be good and fully supported in the club, "said Loecher on Friday when asked. With the latest regulations for unvaccinated people, however, “one point has been exceeded” for Loecher. "Unvaccinated people are excluded from public, social and sporting areas,to exercise indirect compulsory vaccination through the back door. From my point of view, this is discrimination in its purest form, from which I clearly and publicly distance myself. My own status (vaccinated, recovered or unvaccinated) plays no role at all, ”emphasizes Loecher, who does not want to publicly disclose his personal vaccination status.
TV Vice President Stephanie Mehnert regretted Loecher's step and wanted to express her respect for this personal decision, but also stated unequivocally: "It is very important to us as an association that this is a very personal view of things."
Association council meeting on December 13th
Mehnert, who works as team manager for the women's volleyball second division and trainer at TV, will now temporarily manage the business.
At the association council meeting on December 13th, the presidium members and department heads in this body should then, in accordance with the statutes, appoint a person who provisionally takes over the office of president until the next assembly of delegates, which would normally take place in April 2022.
The political leaders of the communities of Krailling and Planegg, who actively support the association with grants, held back when asked to criticize Achim Loecher's move.
“It's a personal decision.
We will therefore not change anything in the cooperation with TV Planegg-Krailling and will continue to support the association as before, ”said Planegg's mayor Hermann Nafziger.
Krailling's mayor, Rudolph Haux, said: “I cannot understand the reason why he resigned.
But it's a personal decision that I respect. "
