The Superior Audiovisual Council (CSA) has just presented to television channels and radios the rules that will apply in order to guarantee the pluralism of political expression during the presidential election of 2022. Its recommendation will be published in the official journal on Friday October 22.
Even outside election periods, the audiovisual media must ensure
“respect for the pluralist expression of currents of thought and opinion”
on their antennas.
One third of speaking time is reserved for the executive, while political parties and movements share the remaining two thirds.
But from January 1, the rules will start to tighten.

Initially, until the evening of March 7, the principle of equity will apply to declared candidates as well as presumed candidates - collecting public and significant support in favor of their candidacy -, as well as to their supports.
This rule of fairness is assessed in terms of their respective political weight.
