In mid-August, Virginia Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew.

She claims the Duke of York forced her to have sex when she was a minor in the London apartment of the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew wanted to challenge the proper service of the lawsuit, but also the jurisdiction of the New York court.

Now he has accepted the lawsuit and has agreed with Giuffre on September 21 as the delivery date.

This emerges from a joint statement filed on Friday in the US District Court in Manhattan.

Prince Andrew now has until October 29 to formally respond to the lawsuit.

A hearing originally scheduled for October 13th has been canceled.

The prince's legal team had tried for months to block the lawsuit in the first place to avoid Prince Andrew defending himself against the abuse allegations.

The allegations against Prince Andrew have been in the room since 2019.

Giuffre sued Andrew based on a 2019 New York law that gave childhood sexual abuse survivors a two-year window to sue their suspected abusers for acts that happened many years or decades ago.

The 38-year-old is demanding an indefinite amount of damages.
