Prion research temporarily halted after second Creutzfeldt-Jakob case

A three-month moratorium was decided by the public research institutes following the discovery of a second case of Creutzfeldt-Jakob in a laboratory technician.

This was decided by the five French public research institutes concerned (Anses, CEA, CNRS, Inrae, Inserm), following the discovery of a case of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in a retired laboratory assistant.
