Milk production in the operating facilities of the General Organization for Livestock has reached 2,590 tons in each of Jub Ramleh, Homs, Fido, and Ghouta, and about 80 tons of meat during the first five months of this year.
General Director of the Foundation, Eng. Khaled Hilal Bayn, told SANA reporter that the number of the herd in the four facilities is currently 1990, including 1010 growing herds and 980 cows, including 767 milking heads and 213 “non-dairying” hollows, while the number of births reached 274 heads during this year. Until the end of May.
Hilal confirmed that the corporation's factories manufacture the facilities' daily production from milk to milk, labneh, white cheese, mozzarella, Kashkaval, Mashalal, and Quraisha. Direct sales centers in laboratories at wholesale and semi-wholesale prices and through the Syrian trade halls in the governorates of Lattakia and Hama, and the sales hall of the Corporation's products in Baghdad Street in Damascus.
Hilal pointed out that the Corporation's production of green fodder this year amounted to about 4,051 tons, stressing that the Corporation is working to complete the projects that were started within the investment plan in the working cattle, and the works included in the plan were announced and contracted with part of them, in addition to completing the rehabilitation of cow facilities in Both Maskana and Deir Ezzor.
