Summer, the time of arrivals… And farewells.

This Thursday evening, Alessandro Florenzi communicated on social networks to say goodbye to PSG supporters as well as to all components of the club.

In a message posted on Twitter, the recent winner of Euro 2021 with Italy explained that it had been a "great privilege to be part of this family, a great opportunity to develop", before thanking the staff, coaches as well as managers and teammates.

He concludes with these words: "I wish you the best".

On loan from AS Roma to Paris Saint-Germain last season, it was no secret that the full-back would return to Italy this summer.

If his odds had skyrocketed at the end of the eighth-final of the Parisians in the Champions League against Barcelona and if he felt good in Paris, the enthusiasm for his performance was quickly deflated, especially at the end of the semi-final of C1 against Manchester City, particularly delicate for him.

It's time to say goodbye.

It was a great privilege to be part of this family To be there, a great opportunity to develop.

I really thank everyone.

The staff, coaches, managers and teammates.

In addition, Alessandro Florenzi (30) had shown some physical shortcomings, due to difficulties in recovering from a double operation of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee in 2016 and 2017. For all these reasons, the leaders of the PSG s' were shown reluctant to exercise its purchase option of approximately € 9 million.

Florenzi has played 21 Ligue 1 matches with PSG (2 goals).

In his position as right-back, as number 1, PSG will count next season on one of its flagship recruits of the summer, the Moroccan international, Achraf Hakimi.
