(ANSA) - ALGHERO, 25 SEPTEMBER - "We will return to Alghero as free citizens of a Republic, in a Europe that is more democratic and more united in fundamental rights".
This was stated by the former president of the Catalan Generalitat, Carles Puigdemont, during the meeting with the mayor of Alghero Mario Conoci.
"Long live Alghero and free Catalonia - he said -. I write these words with immense honor and infinite emotion in the book of the beloved city of Alghero".
Puigdemont underlined his appreciation "for the solidarity shown by Alghero for the democratic junta of Catalonia and for its freedom".
