Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron that the bombing of the Zaporozhye nuclear plant by the Ukrainian regime forces threatens to cause a large-scale catastrophe.

In a statement today, the Kremlin press office said: Putin told his French counterpart that the systematic bombing of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant area by Ukrainian forces threatens a large-scale catastrophe that could lead to radioactive contamination of vast areas.

According to the Kremlin, during the phone call, which took place at the initiative of the French side, they discussed various aspects of the situation in all of Ukraine, where the two sides stressed the importance of sending a mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency to the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye as soon as possible able to assess the real situation on the immediately.

The Russian president stressed his country's readiness to provide the necessary assistance to the agency's inspectors.
