The Qased Ensemble, led by Maestro Kamal Skiker, celebrated the able Syrian composer, Mahdi Ibrahim, through a musical evening in which he presented his most important works on the drama stage at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts.

Ibrahim has more than 180 musical and lyrical works recorded for Damascus Radio and 14 books written and prepared by him in the field of music research and music learning.

In the presence of Ibrahim, the band played ten works written by Maestro Skiker, with the participation of young academic singers Heba Fahmeh and Rayan Jarira.

Among the pieces that the band played in the sunset, My Hearing My Dreams, and My Hearing A Kurd, in addition to songs with the enemy of my heart and not my intention, and like a dream and my love for you, in a voice that understands him.

And Jarira’s share in the evening was muwashah whenever passion blew up and I handed my command to conclude the evening’s poem band with a piece since you are a human being.

It is noteworthy that Mahdi Ibrahim was born in Tartous in 1963. He is a member of the Artists Syndicate and founding director of the Arab Institute of Music in Tartous. He worked as a teacher of Arabic singing at the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus. He is a member of jury committees in local festivals, a supervisor and coach for musical groups, and a recipient of the Golden Ornina Awards at the Syrian Song Festival and the Golden Microphone in Arabic Song Festival.
