"Before criticizing Silvio Berlusconi someone should count to five".
This was stated by Matteo Salvini, leader of the League, on the sidelines of his speech at the party's political training school in Milan, commenting on the words of the
Minister for Regional Affairs, Mariastella Gelmini,
who accuses the president of Forza Italia of being "ambiguous" on the war.
"With all due respect - added Salvini - Silvio Berlusconi is Silvio Berlusconi, with everything he has done in his life. One may like it or not, but he leaves traces in the history of our country".
The Italian minister's response was not long in coming: "I invite the League secretary, Matteo Salvini, to respect the internal debate of a party that - for the moment - is not his own. I have placed a political line on a position in Forza Italia. which I understand well is not that of Salvini, but that it concerns the pro-European and Atlanticist position of Forza Italia. A problem that obviously exists, given that twice the party had to intervene to clarify, regardless of me ".
This was declared by Mariastella Gelmini, minister for regional affairs and autonomies.
