Sales of electrified cars (100% electric or plug-in hybrids) doubled in Europe in the first quarter.
The vast majority are equipped with a battery made in Asia (China, South Korea, Japan, etc.), which represents 30 to 40% of the car's added value.
"We are witnessing a transfer of added value from the automotive world to Asia with this development of the electric vehicle,"
warns Flavien Neuvy, director of the Cetelem Observatory.

The builders have announced many plans for battery factories.
In mid-March, the German giant Volkswagen promised six "giga factories" in Europe in the coming years.
Start-ups have placed themselves in this niche, such as the Swedish Northvolt, which has launched the construction of its factory, or the French Verkor, which has only one project.
All of these projects take time to come out of the ground.
