Returning to the case, the minister recognized "a tragedy for both this young woman and her family".
"There is this absolutely dramatic recidivism which is a failure but, for all that, should we question parole when I tell you that it reduces the risk of recidivism by 50%?

As a reminder, the family of the teenager has indicated its willingness to file a complaint against the State for "gross negligence".

His release would have been decided by the sentence enforcement judge, "at the request of the convicted person and after a favorable opinion from the prison service for integration and probation, the prison administration and the Lyon public prosecutor's office".
An expert psychiatrist had estimated that the risk of recidivism of the condemned was "low", had specified the prosecution.
"The person, released on November 20, 2021, was in the legal conditions for granting parole since January 6, 2020," he added.
