The Paris Court of Appeal, seized by the CGT, ordered the RATP on Thursday to put back plexiglass walls to protect the driving positions in its buses, "
given the worsening of the epidemic
" of Covid- 19, according to the court ruling consulted by AFP.

It is obvious that the removal of the plexiglass wall was decided without a detailed assessment of the impact of this decision with regard to the particular configuration of each of the categories of bus,
" said the court, which also condemned the Paris transport authority to pay 6,000 euros to the CGT RATP Bus union.
This union, rejected in summary proceedings at the beginning of March, contested the decision of the management to resume the sale of tickets on the buses in mid-February and requested its suspension.
He also demanded that the plexiglass driver protection walls, removed for the resumption of on-board sales, be put back on all buses.

In its judgment, the Court of Appeal considers that "
the measures defined by the RATP to resume the sale
" of tickets on board buses (suspended since March 2020), "
are not sufficient and involve a risk for health and safety of employees of the Bus department
”.
The court relies on "
many elements

premature the decision of the RATP to resume the sale on board (...) under the conditions it has defined
", with masks, hydroalcoholic gel, decontamination protocols , etc., but without the “
plexiglass walls installed in all buses since May 20, 2020
” and insulating the conductors.

Recalling "

", the court noted that the labor inspectorate and "
the occupational physicians of the surface network department
" of the RATP had criticized the decision to resume the sale to board buses "
with the removal of the plexiglass walls
".
