The young dancers from SC Eching caused a sensation at two national championships.
Now the next highlight is the World Cup in Poland.

- Not only on a national, but also on an international level, various ensembles of the dance sport department of SC Eching are dancing ahead - and that also in the second year of the pandemic. The Corona training breaks and the constant ups and downs in the difficult exercise conditions cannot affect the motivation and training diligence of the ambitious and talented young dancers - they may have welded them even closer together. In the formations “Next Generation” and “Little People” as well as in various duos and as soloists, the girls between the ages of six and 16 repeatedly win titles and top placements in the Bundesliga, the German Cup and even the World Cup and at the World Cup.
The competition structures are quite complex: Several national and international organizations and (umbrella) associations exist side by side, each with their own elimination modalities from regional to nationwide to European and world championships.
For example, the young athletes, who are coached and supervised by the experienced and renowned trainer and former dancer Natalya Menzel, compete in the elimination competitions of TAF Germany (The Actiondance Federation), which in turn is a member of the IDO (International Dance Organization).
Top results at the German Cup
The most recent tournament "in presence", at which the dance department of SC Eching with its modern dance small groups, soloists and duos, was the German Cup in Dresden.
There the formation "Next Generation" was able to convince with a second place.
The 15 and 16 year old youngsters, most of them have been dancing together for about six years, secured the ticket for the IDO World Championship in Poland's capital Warsaw, which is scheduled for mid-December under strict conditions.

But that was far from the top results at the German Cup: In the solo category, Anastasia Menzel secured first place, Anna Tonn fifth and Anja Kuzmanovska sixth.
Anastasia Menzel and Lea-Sophie Muth won as a duo, Luca Malena Schnitzler and Aurélia Berg came in seventh.
Also at the TAF German Championships in Leuna there were first-class placings with a DM title each for “Next Generation” and the duo Anastasia and Lea-Sophie as well as a fourth place for Luca Malena and Aurélia.
Anastasia also came first in the solo contest.

"Next Generation" includes Anastasia Menzel and Laura Katulic from Eching.
Aurélia Berg comes from Unterschleißheim, Anna Tonn from Munich, Alina Dillschnitter from Neutraubling, Luca Malena Schnitzler from Neufahrn and, as a newcomer, Anja Kuzmanovska from Switzerland, who is only there sporadically.
The “Little People” group competes together: six-year-old Tessa Oertel from Neutraubling as the youngest, the two Echinger women Isabell Hoja and Leonie Vetterl, nine and ten years old, and twelve-year-old Anna Broska from Unterschleißheim.
Like a big dance family
But of course you cannot achieve success at this high sporting level without intensive and accompanying support from parents, especially with the younger dancers. Regular training alone, depending on where you live, can add up to two to three hours of pure travel time. The mothers and fathers are also the most passionate fans of their children and accompany the dancers to tournaments all over Germany. This season, for example, Mannheim, Halle an der Saale, Recklinghausen and Dresden were on the itinerary. But Spain, Portugal and Poland are also occasionally venues for high-class events. In the meantime, something like a "dance family" has emerged within the training groups that coordinate and support one another. Because it is not always possible for all parentsto be part of every tournament. And the schools also accept submitted confirmations of participation for a school exemption so that the girls are not denied World and European Championships.

At the moment the training takes place under 2G rules, most of the girls are already vaccinated. Alternatively, a current corona test is valid until the end of the year. Since not everyone is allowed to train together in the hall due to the limited number of people, there is the so-called "hybrid" variant: partly as a zoom conference in which the athletes dial in from home with a tablet and dance in the living room, if necessary, while Natalya and Anastasia Menzel coordinate the training in the private dance room; partly as face-to-face training in the sports facilities, with the training locations in Eching alternating between the school gymnasium on Danziger Straße and the Realschulhalle as well as the dance school in Unterschleißheim. At the moment, the training is being accelerated by additional zoom units with the Serbian choreographers, so that technique,The expression and synchronicity of the two- to two-and-a-half-minute lecture are given the finishing touches.
Great anticipation, strict rules
The "ticket" or the plane tickets to Poland are solved.
"The girls are full of anticipation because it is always very special to compete in a world championship with international groups and friendships have formed over the years," says press spokeswoman and mother Emilia Schnitzler.
Of course, a lot will be different this year due to the corona: Strict rules and contact restrictions apply, a “mixing up” of the national groups should be avoided.
This probably also applies to watching each other.
Of course, the Olympic thought counts: “Being there is everything”.
But it is also clear: The SCE girls are always good for great placements.
