Wolfratshausen - The Lebendige Altstadt Wolfratshausen (LAW) association recently raised the bar to encourage citizens to participate in the redesign of Marktstrasse.
Until September 23rd, citizens can view and comment on the current status of the preliminary draft planning for Marktstrasse on the Internet at www.wolfratshausen.de/beteiligung.
Because many are not yet aware of this, the Lebendige Altstadt Wolfratshausen (LAW) association has now been promoting it.
The response at the information stands on Sebastianisteg and Marienplatz was great.
"Many citizens do not yet know that they can participate with their ideas and suggestions or have not yet internalized it," said ex-LAW chairman Hans-Werner Kuhlmann, explaining the purpose of the campaign.
"Very interested"
Citizens of all ages stopped in front of the information desks.
"Most of them told us that something finally had to happen here: Young families in particular were very interested," reported Ernst Gröbmair.
The recently elected LAW chairman also spoke to day tourists who only come to Wolfratshausen occasionally.
He learned from a woman from Munich that she would welcome a largely car-free Markstrasse with lots of green spaces.
Of course, he also saw passers-by with low expectations.
“It's all in vain because the city councils are doing what they want anyway,” remarked a man who didn't want to read his name in the newspaper.
Angelika Imsel, on the other hand, clearly positioned herself for the upgrading of Marktstrasse.
“I think that's good because a little more flair can't hurt,” said the Wolfratshauser.
Appreciation of the environment
However, many citizens are critical of a possible shifting of the fountain at Marienplatz.
“We shouldn't destroy what is already beautiful,” said Anja Beck-Dinzinger.
She moved to the Flößerstadt 16 years ago and spoke out in favor of upgrading the area around Marktstrasse.
Beck-Dinzinger is certain that there is still a lot of potential there.
The former Green District Councilor Lucia Schmidt, who cycled past the information stand on Saturday morning, also thinks so.
“It would be great if there were more plants, benches and play areas for children on Marktstrasse,” she wished.
The Weidach couple Hamit and Meltem Cordan consider the LAW information campaign to be important.
"It is good that the possibility of citizen participation has been made public again", praised Meltem Cordan.
After the digital participation, which ends on September 23, there will be an information event on October 5 in the Loisachhalle.
There, Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner and the architects will explain how the ideas and suggestions can be implemented.
