The Prime Minister, Jean Castex, and the president of the metropolis of Nice, Christian Estrosi, signed Thursday in Matignon a revival and ecological transition contract, local variation of the recovery plan which must in particular finance infrastructure investments.

The State must in particular partly finance a stimulus plan for the metropolis of Nice of 2.5 billion euros over the next five years, including 400 million invested from 2021. Since the announcement of the national recovery plan - 100 billion euros in all - the head of government has started a tour of France to contract with regions, departments (around forty have already signed an agreement) and metropolitan areas, "
whose objective is to cover from here the summer almost the whole of the territory
”, indicated the head of government.

", hammered the Prime Minister during this signing in Matignon, in considering that "
our strength will be to have faced these difficulties as well as possible and drawn all the consequences to prepare for the future
".
The recovery plan for Nice and its metropolis, which brings together 49 municipalities and is positioned as the fifth most important agglomeration in France, must in particular finance new tram lines, cycle paths, the construction of a cable car, the renewal of urban development, economic development or the construction of a new police station bringing together national and municipal police.

The mayor of Nice and president of the metropolis, Christian Estrosi, still inset LR, paid tribute to "
the determination and energy of the President of the Republic and those of the government
", during the signing, initially planned last month in the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes, but canceled due to the announcement of new restrictions.
Jean Castex then made a promise: "
I will take the Paris-Nice sleeper train as soon as it opens
", while this night train line was to be put into service again this weekend, and whose reopening has finally been postponed indefinitely due to the health crisis.
